About SettlePL
What is SettlePL?
SettlePL is a pre-launch platform for people moving to, living in or working in Poland, with planned tools for organisations and verified professionals that may support them. The current pilot provides public guidance and a free device-only Move Preview. Employer tools, accommodation, partner referrals and payments are demonstrations. SettlePL is not a government service or law firm.
Is SettlePL just a checklist?
No. Progress is one feature. The planned product also includes employer communications, private property listings, official information, travel and re-entry education, appointments and access to verified service providers.
Is the information legal advice?
No. SettlePL explains general information from linked official sources. It does not assess your individual legal position or create an adviser-client relationship. Use a regulated professional when personal legal analysis is needed.
Translations and legal help
Does every foreign document need a sworn translation?
No. Requirements depend on the procedure and authority. For example, official Polish residence guidance states that foreign-language documents submitted in that process must be accompanied by a sworn translation into Polish. Check the current official checklist for your exact application before ordering.
How will SettlePL verify a sworn translator?
Before a provider is listed, SettlePL will check the person against the Ministry of Justice register and record the verification date. You can also search the official register yourself.
Will I upload documents to SettlePL?
No. SettlePL will not receive or store passports, visas, residence cards, legal papers or documents for translation. The independent provider must offer a secure direct hand-off and explain its own privacy terms.
When might I need a lawyer?
Consider regulated legal advice when facts are disputed, a deadline or refusal is involved, you need representation, your status is unclear, or a decision may materially affect your rights. SettlePL cannot decide whether legal representation is necessary for you.
Does SettlePL receive commission from lawyers?
SettlePL will not take a percentage of legal fees. Participating practices may pay a fixed listing or platform fee unrelated to the amount charged or case outcome, subject to final Polish professional-regulation review. You contract and pay the lawyer directly.
Privacy, employers and payments
What information does this version store?
External account registration and cross-device synchronisation are currently paused. Guest progress and interface preferences remain on this device. Previous verified pilot accounts may retain synchronised situation answers, completed task identifiers, target dates, account email and last-update time until deletion is requested. SettlePL does not request identity documents, immigration records, medical records or card details. Employer and property records are fictional.
What can an employer see?
The production design limits employers to agreed, status-only onboarding progress using pseudonymous employee identifiers. Employers should not see passports, medical records, private messages or documents unless a worker knowingly shares them outside SettlePL.
Are payments live?
No. Paid areas and quote flows are currently previews. Before launch, payments must use a regulated hosted checkout, show the provider, total price, terms, refund/complaints route and commercial disclosure before payment.
Why are provider names not shown?
SettlePL does not provide free advertising. A provider is named only after verification, a signed commercial agreement and authorisation to display its identity.
How current are the rules?
Rules can change and vary by nationality and circumstances. Each important explanation links to an official source. Check that source before acting and seek regulated advice where necessary.
